Hattie Science - Why did the dinosaurs die?

I’d like to introduce a new segment to my blog - Hattie Science
This week’s topic:
'Why did the dinosaurs die?'

Here are her various hypotheses:
1.       Maybe they walked into a fire. Maybe they didn’t see the fire and so they walked in it.

2.       Maybe they walked into a trap, and they didn’t see the trap. Like a big trap.

3.       Maybe they walked onto the volcano, and then died. Like our mountain which was a volcano (Mount Wellington). I’ve never been on a volcano. Are people allowed to go on volcanoes?

4.       Maybe they banged into something. Maybe they banged into a pole and then fell down. Would you die if you banged into a pole?

5.       Maybe they were too old. They could be too old.
Concluding comments: 'Just tell me why they died dad. Tell me. Just tell me right now.'

  2. That's how I am going to die. I am going to get too old and walk into a pole.

  3. Oh it's easy...Tell Hattie what a 2 or 3 (I can't remember) Remi used to say when asked how the dinosaurs died: "pit the earth". Which was a quote from some dinosaur video we had which talked about when the meteor hit the earth. I'm amazed Hattie didn't have a Star wars theory....

  4. Hattie and Nathan would get along great. His logic ability hurts my head and always ends up back where we began.
And I love that you've got your own cool boy blog, yet somehow ya still get stuck talking about the kids! nice to know that it happens to the best of us ;-)

  5. Very cool blog Daveid. I love the reasons the dinosaurs died. I was thinking about starting a blog but thought that would go against my whole anti-social introvert agenda.

  6. Thanks for all the comments. The real reason that the dinosaurs died was that a cataclysmic comet hit the earth, spraying dust into the atmosphere, reducing sunlight, so that they didn't see the pole....

  7. that must have been the same pole I backed into!

  8. I just discovered your blog, Dave, and I love it! Especially the science stuff...
Conrad thinks he is a dinosaur, and tells me regularly, "Mommy, I am going to grow a dinosaur tail, because it's almost spring." Not sure where that came from... We love and miss you guys!
